What does "raw converter" mean in v.16?

v.15 opens RAW file, according to the formats menu, but it is not opening .dng files produced by Adobe DNG Converter (that format is as common as mud), .kdc files from Kodak's P880 (okay, that is a pretty unusual one, legacy, so fine, I'm converting them to .dng), or Panasonic's RW2 (from the G1 and that's a format with a future).

Will v.16 handle some or all of these formats?
