I just noticed that for image layers there is now a 32-bit option.
I wonder if that means we can expect HDR file formats support at some point?
Or is there some other use for it?
Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere, search doesn't seem to turn up anything.

Re: 32-bit image layers?
I'm not sure that this option is in the official 16.52 on purpose – It's been in the beta version for a while, and occasionally, 32 bit layers cause crashes there. 32 bit layers might also "disappear" in 16.53 again. So I'd advise you not to use them for "serious" work yet.procyon hat geschrieben:I just noticed that for image layers there is now a 32-bit option.
Currently, you can use 32 bit floating point tiffs, at least in RGB mode. I haven't tried Lab and CMYK modes.procyon hat geschrieben:I wonder if that means we can expect HDR file formats support at some point?
Maybe it would be a good idea if you (or others) could just name the HDR format(s) which you'd like PL to support (import only and import/export).

Re: 32-bit image layers?
I just noticed that PL seems to be able to import LogLuv TIFFs. They might be very dark because you'll have to do your own tonemapping (using Curves – I used two adjustment layers, one for a coarse adjustment and the second for fine tuning).

Curves clip at 0 and 1! I'm not sure if there's already a nice tool for that purpose.
