Smart panels

Hi all,
Maybe this is a trivial request but for my workflow is important.
I like to keep almost all panels in the workspace, but everytime that I unfold a panel while the layers are open the bottom bar goes over the workspace, here a couple of screenshots, so the request is that the panels should have auto-adjust the size to keep inside the workspace.

I second that request. Having the Layer window autosize/smart would save me LOTS of clicks and searching to locate the icons on the bottom.

I'd also like to good solution to the panel problem. One point to keep in mind, imo, is to avoid double scrollbars (inside the panel + for the container), like in this (faked) example.

I've had to use other programs which behaved that way, and it drives me nuts. So the (inner) panels themselves would have to grow to their natural size automatically, I guess.

So far, I've worked around the problem by defining a few standard dialog layouts (one with a big layer panel, one with a big adjustemnt layer panel) and assigned keyboard shortcuts to them. Whenever my panels start to clutter the workspace, I go back to one of the defaults. Works quite well for me …
