PhotoLine in DAMs

I recently began the daunting task of reorganizing the thousands of images on my hard drive using the program I have for digital asset management, ACDSee Pro 5. I began by attempting to make global assignments of IPTC keywords in each image folder. I discovered, however, this was not possible in folders containing PLD files. ACDSee will read the IPTC data in a PLD file, but it cannot be changed from that application.

(I use ACDSee Pro 5 because it can create a thumbnail from a PLD file, PhotoLine can be assigned as one of several editors to open from ACDSee, even though it cannot produce preview images from PL files.)

After failing with global assignment of keywords in my DAM, I tried the PL Browser. From the Browser I selected several JPG files, opened the Document Information window, selected the Key tab and entered a keyword. When I checked the JPG files individually, however, I found the keyword was assigned to only the first image in the group. Obviously, the Browser cannot be used for global management purposes.

So, my question to the photographers who are using PL as an editor -- what are you using to organize and access your mix of JPG, TIF, PDL and other image-format files?

that's not the correct way. Select your images and Ctrl-Rightclick (Windows) on one of the images. The keyword popup will appear and you can setup the keywords.
