Adding "glow" to pix

I just followed a link in a post on the DPReview m43 forum to a Photoshop tutorial in adding "glow" to pix.

You can do it in any photo editor offering layers. I just duplicated it in the image mode of Canvas and in my usual photo editor these days, PhotoLine (and gave both a plug when I posted this on the forum).

Attached is the Canvas version (presented here because it is a little easier to bring the two images together in Canvas).

In this case, the process is handily blunting the sharpness of the Oly f1.8 45mm just a touch in addition to softening the background. I probably could have taken it a little further -- but then I tend to back off a little bit because I’m notoriously heavy-handed when doing this kind of thing.

One thing not mentioned in the tutorial is that it might be a good idea to look at reducing contrast or saturation a little in the end product.
