Automask - with rectangle

Hello,

I am trying to do the following task repetitively in Photoline, and am wondering if there is an easier way to do it. I have a large .JPG file that has a white background with text, and a colored image near the center. I want to crop just the colored image near the center. Now I do it manually, using Rectangle Lasso, then Tool->Lasso->Crop. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do this using the Automask tool, relying on the fact that the background is white, but constraining the mask to be a rectangle.

You can automatise this as follows.

1. Use Layer -> Display -> Color Filter to make the white parts transparent. You'll have to adjust the top right slider until all white becomes transparent.

2. Use Layer -> Fix layer to convert the color filter to a layer mask (in the Layer panel, the image will now have a layer mask)
3. Use Layout -> Document -> Trim document to trim away the transparent part
4. In the Layers panel, show the layer mask of the image (by clicking on the trinagle left to it) and delete the layer mask. This brings back the whites.

I've included a simple PhotoLine action (you can load it by dragging it onto the PhotoLine icon, or use "Merge" from the context menu in the Actions panel) which just does these steps. You might have to adjust the setting in the first step.
