Saving and loading curves in v17.51

It seems to me that after having saved a curve (Preset > Save) It's impossible to load the .clu file back. If I first make a new preset any pre shaped curve is retained and usable again via the preset popup menu or window, but saved .clu files have no effect once recalled. The command 'Merge' works, and it merges the saved curved with the active preset but not the active curve: the one drawn in the input/output window.

There are other minor issues too. Presets can appear listed twice in the preset window, sometimes even three times, but it's possible to select only one instance: Whichever double or triple preset I choose, the selection always shifts to the last one, the one with the lower position, closer to the bottom of the list.

Do you experience the same?

Just to be sure: .clu files contain the entire list of presets (if created by "Save …") in the Curves dialogue, or just the active one ("Save Active …"), "Load …" replaces all the presets by the ones in a file. Each preset consists of a set of curves, one for each channel, plus other settings. It's also normal that the curve(s) in a loaded .clu file isn't automatically selected (since a .clu file normally contains several presets).

Besides, "curve" also refers to the single function graphs, such as the preset curves from which you can choose for each colour channel in the Curves dialogue. These curves are stored in the Curve list (View -> Lists -> Curve List). You can drag curves (graphs) from the Curves dialogue into the Curves (and they will appear in curves popup windows), and you can save/load curve lists (.cu1 files) from the context menu of the Curve List.

Yes, same here (PL 17.51 64 bit on OS X 10.8.2) — probably PL shouldn't allow you to use the same name twice (and possibly auto-rename merged presets).

I was thinking that "save" saved only the curve just set up in the graph window, like in the PL big brother (I know it's forbidden to mention PL competitors in this forum) and "Load" loaded the single saved curve.

Thus, to apply several times the same curve I need to store it in the preset list first; then, eventually, save the hole preset list. And, yes, the most probably explanation of the impossibility to choose among the multiple instances of the same preset is the one you've given to me.
