About tabs

Hi all,

Now with this hype about the another software going to the clouds, then amount of people who are jumping away from there is huge and I guess this is the time for PL to stand out and say welcome to all those who are not going to use the another one anymore.

I would like to start with something "simple" I guess, is to add tabs for documents, right now we can have the document list horizontally which is fantastic but what about just tabs with the name of the document, with this we can save huge amount of space for the canvas or working area.

A tab for each open document just under the general toolbar would be very convenient. Much better than having to go to the Windows menu and select a drop-down (at least that's the way it's done in the Windows version.

It’s a huge opportunity. In fact, it won’t be working in the cloud, it will still be on individual machines with cloud storage available. Anyone who uses that would have to be seriously deranged and deliberately trying to lose their files, in my view.

The change is really only in the payment process which turns into $600 a year and no jumping off, and Lightroom is going to remain a purchase at least for the time being.

ACDSee is running hard offering discounts right now on its programs and has just launched v.3 of its image editor for Mac.

For once, ACD is making the right marketing decision, I believe, because this is a prime time to promote while the misinformation is rampant and panic is in the air.

I've mentioned PhotoLine as an possible alternative on a couple of the DPReview forums. I am on the m43 and Open Talk forums. Anyone using another camera might like to go on the appropriate forum and mention PL as a possibility -- fully purchased at about two months of Adobe rent and works fine as the complementary processor for Lightroom, Aperture, or iPhoto.

Yes Gerhard, and it works awesome but when you are in laptop screens where are 15 and 17 inches there is too much vertical space "wasted", I hope it makes sense.

Yes Helmut, that´s what I´m talking about, it´s perfect also Bod solution is great if you want more minimalistic looking.

But Geoff, what happens if you don´t want to pay the fee anymore? as far as I know the files are tie to that fee as well, if you don´t pay for the fee then you can´t open your files anymore so they become useless. Honestly this is such a mess from that company that the only thing that I see is the perfect moment for PL to stand up.
