Can I control where images open on screen?

Can I control where images open on screen?
I like to keep the toolbar on the left, where it appears by default in PhotoLine. But (now, after a few days) every time I open an image or create a new one, it opens behind the toolbar. Is there a way to prevent this happening?

-Is the picture maximized?
