Not too sure if this is a bug or a feature: I noticed that when I delete pixel areas with the lasso tool, the information is not really erased. Painting with a brush over the deleted areas that affects the alpha channel only magically makes those deleted pixels reappear.
Even cutting an area does not really cut away the pixels: rather, it affects the alpha only.
It's a nice feature to be able to retrieve the "deleted" information, but is this the expected behaviour? I also noticed that the web export does replace those deleted/cut out areas with black pixels and full transparency.
Just curious.

It is an undefined behavior, but mostly PhotoLine has the tendency to keep information, if there is no real advantage in losing it.Herbert123 hat geschrieben:Not too sure if this is a bug or a feature: I noticed that when I delete pixel areas with the lasso tool, the information is not really erased. Web Export und the PNG export are clearing that areas explicitly, because that may result in smaller file sizes.Herbert123 hat geschrieben:I also noticed that the web export does replace those deleted/cut out areas with black pixels and full transparency.

Re: Deleting and cutting a lasso does not really delete pixe
What would be the quickest method to really delete that information in a layer?

I'm just curious: Why do you want to do that?Herbert123 hat geschrieben:What would be the quickest method to really delete that information in a layer?
I just tried changing the layer size first by 1 and then by -1 (Layer > Change Layer Size), and it replaced the pixels in the transparent areas with white. Recorded as action this should be a fast way.

Peace of mind?
And technical curiosity.
Seriously though, for almost twenty years I worked in Photoshop, and I got accustomed to certain "behaviours".
I do prefer the Photoline approach now. Thank you!

Another way:Herbert123 hat geschrieben:What would be the quickest method to really delete that information in a layer?
-Create an adjustment layer as a child layer. For example, choose curves, change nothing, click on the button to create an adjustment layer, go to the layer list, drag the adjustment layer onto the original layer.
-Then right-click on the layer in the layer list and choose "merge layer".
But I'm not sure if this behavior is a bug that should be removed
