8 bit > 16 bit conversion

hi-dee-hooo,

anyone knows how i can convert an 8 bit image to a 16 bit image?..
can't seem to find it in the menus...

- Select the background layer
- Choose Menu Layer->Convert Layer Type.
- Optionally check "All Layers" to convert all layers at once.

"Layer > Convert Layer type". Or much easier: You can find and change the bit-depth in the attributes-dialog for the layer.
Or, when you are using document mode, you can change the depth in the document-tab of the attributes-dialog.

I would suggest you to leave the attributes panel open at all times: it also gives you access to other handy functionality. For example, double-clicking on many attributes opens the equivalent dialogs. Speeds up workflow in Photoline.
