Focus Magic plug-in -- does its magic with PL

Beitrag von greenmorpher »

hello folks

A rare new version of one of my favorite plug-ins -- Focus Magic -- has appeared and it plays with PL in 64 bit on the Mac. It also plays with 64 bit Windows (although I haven’t tested it).

I'm very pleased to say the least! :D :D :D :D :D

Focus Magic does very nice sharpening of normal soft stuff but it a couple of special tricks. One is it can sharpen up stuff that is blurred due to camera and/or subject movement with you setting the movement direction and range in pixels.

Have a look at the site: http://www.focusmagic.com

It’s a once in a lifetime payment of USD45 and the download for the free trial of about a dozen pix is just 1.3 MB !!!!!

Brilliant! Looks as though the engineers have the same attitude as those the Hubers -- don’t waste one iota of code.

Best regards
Geoff

Yes, FocusMagic is excellent. I've had the new Mac version installed in Photoshop and PhotoLine since the day it came out. It rescued a very badly blurred camera phone image for me. I also have the CF Systems /PerfectRAW in both apps. But I didn't really get an answer from Huber about navigating to the Topaz Filters, using the Manage Plugins. The Topaz installer is designed to put the filters in the Photoshop Plugins Folder only. In PS each one opens individually and you have to put the license code in each one as you open that one for the first time. I don't know if the Navigate/Enable method will work if I go to the Plugins Filter Folder in Photoshop. Huber sort of indicated that it would but I haven't had te courage to try it.

I have Topaz Adjust v.5 installed in PhotoLine and the installation was fine and it works fine. I have no competing installation location, e.g. PS.

Cheers, geoff

I don't know my Topaz version offhand, but my installer was only for Photoshop. I wonder if I copied the Topaz folder to somewhere else and navigated to it, that it would be ok. I don't like the idea of mixing apps.
