But DxO Optics Pro does provide the best automatic lens correction available, in my opinion.

This promotion is obviously an attempt to get potential customers to upgrade to the latest version, which is 9. Several significant improvements since 6.

Lightroom 5.3 has a feature called upright that does a one click lens and perspective that seems to work well. DxO has a cheap app called DxO Perspective that does a good job, too.
After I looked at DxO 6 I noticed that it seems to be able to save to dng. I haven't tried opening one yet. A review of DxO 8 vs Capture One 7 vs Lightroom 4 said that DxO doesn't support dng so now I'm confused.

I verified that DxO 6 Elite does not open dng, but have not yet tried to save as dng.

Actually it does open DNGs from my Pentax K-5 (directly saved DNGs and also with DNG-Converter converted PEFs), but not DNG-converted X3F-Files from my Sigma SD-14. (As there is no module for Sigma it doesn't open the original X3Fs also.) So it seems to depend on the DNG-source.
