Add quality filter to every page of a PDF

Hi Everyone. I am using Photoline and I love it! I use it to clean PDFs of sheet music, removing the dirt and edge shadow from my scanner.

My question is this: I use the Filter - Quality - Remove Dirt (3pt) for each page. Can I add it to every page of the pdf so I don't have to do it manually on each page?

Afaik not.

I would record an action that includes "Layout > Page > Next page", maybe repeat the filter and the paging a few times so the action could filter a few pages with each click.

The short answer is "No".

There's a strange method of saving the PDF as a TIF, choosing to save pages as layers. Then closing the document and re-opening it, again making sure to use the option of opening pages as layers. That will give you a TIF file with the pages as layers (in reversed order...). You can apply the Remove Dirt as an adjustment layer at the top of the layer stack, and it will be applied to everything below it, but I don't see the usefulness of doing this since you'd have to hide each layer in succession to see the adjustment on a given layer....

Thanks for the responses guys. The idea of making an action is interesting is a kind of middle ground. I wonder if they will ever allow document wide corrections. I know you can rotate an entire document so I thought I might be able to filter an entire document as well.

I will let you know what I come up with for future searchers on the forum.

Had another idea, but didn't check it:
Record the filter as an action. Then go to the picture browser and select "apply action" from the menu.
The action will be applied to multiple files, maybe it also works for multiple pages there?
But I didn't test it, it would also be logical if it was applied to the first page only.

I've done some more experimenting, and basically you have to apply the Dirt Removal to each image. You'll need to modify your workflow and keep all of your scanned pages as individual images before combining them into a PDF. You can then record an action in PL that applies your Dirt Removal settings. In PL, you can subsequently use File...Functions...Batch Convert to apply that action to all the image files in a directory (or use Hoogo's method of applying that action from within PL's Browser). That will clean up each of your scanned pages, and you can then combine those clean pages into a PDF.

You'll need to modify your workflow and keep all of your scanned pages as individual images before combining them into a PDF.

Alternatively, you can use "Save Page(s) As …" to save the pages in your PDF as PLD files, batch process the files, and re-assemble them via "Load Page(s) …".
