Adding a watermark in a batch file?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have been unable to find a way to add a graphics watermark to a group of images via an action. In fact, the word "watermark" does not appear in a search of the English PL Help file.

Text can be added to images in an action with Text-to-Picture. It seems logical that Stamps could be easily used to do the same thing. Just create a stamp file with a single image -- the watermark graphic -- is all it would take. But wait -- Stamps won't run in PhotoLine actions!

It seems to me this feature would help make PhotoLine more appealing to those professional photographers who use watermarks with logos. (PaintShop Pro has had this ability for many years.)

Consider this my feature request.

You can use "Load Layer" in an action to add a custom watermark image.

When I have wanted to do this it has involved resizing pix too. So I have set up one picture with the finished size, added, sized, and positioned the watermark, then copied the watermark to the clipboard.

I have then set up an action to do the resizing, then "paste" and "flatten". Then gone to Batch Convert and specified that action. The result is resized pix with the watermark in the correct size and position.

Geoff, your method sounds good, too. But for a task that is repeated often, the "Load Layer" option appears to be more efficient. Start recording the action, call the photo object to be used as the watermark with Load Layer, resize and reposition, and stop the action. Then use it in a batch file.

I did find one bug, however.

An action in PhotoLine 18.02 fails to record the resize of the photo object when done with the layer frame handles. The resize must be done with "Scale" to be picked up by the action.

Why does recording an action fail to recognize work done with the layer frame handles?

Perhaps this happens because the layer frame handles don't resize but rescale the frame. Not before the layer has been fixed (after it was rescaled with handles), the new size applied. You can watch this behavior in the layer attributes.
The same thing with rotations...
