Embed objects

I don't know whether this is the proper term or not .. is there a way to open an image as "embed object" ?

Imagine I load a picture developed with external application (non destructively), than after a while I would tweak a bit more the original settings.
I change the parameters , override the settings in the same file and .. is there a way those changes are applied automatically to the layer in PhotoLine or is it necessary to import it again ?

There's a tool called "Placeholder layer". You find it within all these vector shapes when you click and hold a little longer on their tool button.
