ColorPerfect installation in PhotoLine 18.51 64bit

I set up a PhotoLine 18.5 Plugins folder on my Desktop and moved the ColorPerfect 32bit and 64bit plugins into it. I used Manage Plugins to enable the folder. Then I used the Filters pulldown to open ColorPos and tried to register. Copy/Paste wouldn't work, so I typed it in and clicked OK. It went back to Trial.
I wrote to ColorPerfect and here's what I got back:

My guess is that you are running 64-bit Photoline, which would not detect 32-bit plug-ins.

As to what might be happening with Photoline, I checked the Key that you sent and it is valid, so there has been no problem there. The standard instructions are:

Enter the registration Key Code you have purchased. (You can Copy / Paste the Key Code 64-bit Mac version. On the 32-bit Mac versions Copy the Key Code as you would normally, click the registration Key edit box to highlight it and press tab to paste the Key in the box.) Then OK out of the registration dialog. Once the Key is entered you will then need to either OK or Cancel out of ColorPerfect to complete the registration. When the Key is properly entered, the registration still does not take place until AFTER ColorPerfect has been exited. The Plug-in will be fully functional the NEXT time you start it.

So I reopened PhotoLine and did Filters Pulldown. No ColorPerfect. I went to Manage Plugins and it showed that Enable was checked and the greyed out path to my folder was in the window. I tried browsing to the folder and re OKing it. No joy. My FocusMagic was also gone. I have written again for guidance but thought I would post here to see if anyone else had this occur.

I had both ColorPerfect and FocusMagic installed in a previous version of PhotoLine.

I don't have a valid Key Code for ColorPerfect, so the following might only be partly useful. I am on OS X 10.9.5 und use the 64 bit version of PhotoLine:

Paste works fine here. But the "registration key" field doesn't give any feedback: If I type some nonsense and leave with OK, this is accepted without an error message.

(...) So I reopened PhotoLine and did Filters Pulldown. No ColorPerfect.

There is no problem here. After a restart of PhotoLine the ColorPerfect plugin reappears, too.

I went to Manage Plugins and it showed that Enable was checked and the greyed out path to my folder was in the window.

On Mac OS X it is the normal behavior, that the path is grayed out, but PhotoLine should load the plugin, if it was able to load it the first time.

I can't reproduce this crash. After removing the current ColorPerfect and copying just the two ColorPerfect plugins (32 bit and 64 bit) to a newly created folder everything works fine.

I have no idea what or where these files are.

These files are in the folder "Sample user data files" of the ColorPerfect-DMG (version 2.16). But - as I wrote above - I no longer need those files.
It might have been another problem (installing a new version of ColorPerfect while an older one is already loaded in PhotoLine).

I tried installing 18.53 to see if it works as yours has. I am using OS 10.9.6. Manage Plugins still shows my path, but the Filters pulldown does not show ColorPerfect or FocusMagic . Is there some preferred location for the plugins folder?
I have not heard from ColorPerfect today (1/21), if you or Burkhard hear from them please pass it along.

No, there isn't. Can you try to just load one of the plugins? Maybe they interact with each other. So for a test: Disable all plugins but one, quit PhotoLine und restart it again.

I'll try it, but it didn't work when I only had the two ColorPerfect and not Focus Magic, if I remember right. I'll try it with just the 64 bit ColorPerfect, and then I'll make a separate folder for Focus Magic. If that's the problem, you might want to set a warning not to combine apps in a plugin folder, and tell me I'm an idiot.

I removed all but ColorPerfect64 and loaded PhotoLine twice. No joy. PhotoLine does not see the folder shown in the path window in Manage Plugins.
I received a lengthy email from ColorPerfect asking some questions and making some suggestions. They said they had found the same problem on a Retina MacBook. They wanted me to try an earlier version of PL, but the link he sent didn't work. I'm waiting for the time difference now. I tried relaunching Finder to get rid of an app called TotalFinder, but that didn't fix the problem.

"two ColorPerfect" means the 32 bit and 64 bit versions? This shouldn't be a problem, it is no problem on my computer at least.

You could start from the beginning with a "fresh" PhotoLine:
- Quit PhotoLine
- In Finder go to ~/Library/Preferences.
- There should be a folder named "PhotoLine".
- Rename that folder to "PhotoLine1".
- Restart PhotoLine. It should start with the default settings.
- Add a path to ColorPerfect.

Does the plugin appear now?

They said they had found the same problem on a Retina MacBook.

I don't have a Retina MacBook, but I just tried a Retina resolution on my iMac and that worked well.

By the way: What is the exact path to your plugin folder? Are there any special characters or characters like "/"? This shouldn't be a problem, but I have no other idea, what could be wrong.

This is my path attached. ColorPerfect has sent me a to a version of PL that should work twice now but, it produces a Not Found error. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday.

I also tried your default settings trick, no joy.
I will have to rely on coordination between CFSystems and you henceforth, I suppose. All indications point to this being an actual problem.

Fwiw, I've just downloaded (http://www.colorneg.com/colorperfect.html?lang=en) and tried the ColorPerfect 2.16 (64 bit plugin, both the original and the retina patched version) with PL 18.53 on a recent MacBook Pro, OS X 10.10.1 with Retina display. Just the plugin by itself, in a folder in my home directory, no other plugins/plugin paths enables. Both plugins seem to load normally (I have a CFSystems menu entry, and I can open the plugin after I loaded a normal jpeg photo).

So maybe the problem is somewhere else?

What was the last version of PhotoLine, that worked for you in combination with ColorPerfect? Does that version still work?
Does Console.app (in /Applications) show any relevant messages on starting PhotoLine.

Chris sent me links to PL 18.51 and 52 and suggested that I redownload ColorPerfect and create a new folder for it, and install in either one of those PLs. I did that and it appeared in the pull down. I looked in 18.53 and there it was. Then I tried installing FocusMagic64 which I also hadn't bee able to unstall. I created a new folder for it browsed enabled applied, no joy in 18.51, tried in 18.52 and 18.53, no joy. I quit PL a couple of times and tried, no joy. I guess I could redownload FM or something. Just don't know what to do. I told Chris but haven't heard back. They were able to reproduce the problem in 18.53.
