pl can open ai file

pl can open Adobe Illustrator 2014 CC file.

It's so powerful, but why not show the options in the open dialog? You can open ai file, but the ai format didn't show in the file format list.

It is because PhotoLine cannot read Ai-files. There is an option in Illustrator to write PDF compatible Ai-Files (you can find it in the dialog when saving as .ai - and it is enabled in the standard configuration) and PhotoLine reads the PDF data in the Ai-file, then. If you deactive this option you only get a text to activate it, when you open the file in a pdf viewer or PhotoLine.

PL can really read ai format, but can't save as ai format.

and can read the newest ai format!!!

PL parse the newest ai format very good.

I don't have the latest Illustrator, but I'm afraid that's simply not true. Try the way I wrote above...

I just downloaded a free ai file, very random picked from google search, and the ai open without any problem (performing a drag and drop the file to PL interface)

And the same file will open without any problem in the PDF reader of your choice. And you can do this, because Illustrator puts (when the option is enabled and it is usually in a fresh installation) additional PDF informations in the Ai-file.
