Good sharpening technique that leaves noise alone

Beitrag von Herbert123 »

I happen to have Topaz Denoise, but it should work with any other denoise plugin (ninja, etc.). This is the old overlay high pass trick, but the noise is filtered out before applying it as such. Works just as well in Photoline (use the adaptive sharpen adjustment layer).

Cool bananas, Herbert! Many thanks for showing. Now to point a few friends to the forum who do not use PhotoLine and hope they will be impressed and maybe give it a go along with your technique. :D

Um -- except, of course, the demo is with Photoshop. :(

I just tried the technique using the noise reduction feature of Topaz Adjust and it works fine too, as you would expect.

Cheers, Geoff
