Colour Palettes

Beitrag von Stevod »

I'm used to using the CorelDraw suite, which allow me to create and save multiple colour palettes. This means that if I have a set of brand colours, I can save and retrieve them to re-use them at a later date. Does any similar functionality exists in PL? I can't find a way of doing this in Color Lists, which seems the most obvious home.

Thanks,
Stevod

Click on the upside down pyramid, and you will find options to load, save, and merge colour palettes. Each colour palette you load shows up at the bottom of the list for easy palette switching.

By the way, a Pantone colour list can be downloaded here for Photoline:

Many thanks for your help, Herbert.

Some questions:
1. I can open the menu I think you are talking about (attached) by right clicking in color list, but can't find the upside down diamond you talk about. Where is it?
2. How do I start a new palette i.e. clear the default palette and add my own colors, using this menu? For some reason the "Default" check will not clear for me (i'm running 19.01), and there's no "New" entry on this menu.

Not a diamond, but a triangle (▾) at the right side of the title bar of the panel. But it's the same menu that you get when you right-click into the panel itself.

If you want to keep the default palette (just in case), then it's easiest to use "Save active …" (from the context menu) to create a new palette file with just one colour swatch. The name of the file you choose will be the name for the new palette. Then use "Load …" to load that file into a new palette, and delete the one colour swatch. You can switch between "Default" and your new palette using the context menu (the check mark will move to the active palette).

Cheers

Burkhard.
