Editing adjustment layers

Beitrag von cathodeRay »

Hope this is a quick one this time!

When I do say a curves adjustment via an adjustment layer - say add a S curve - and click OK everything happens as expected, the image now showing the adjustment. But maybe its not quite right, so I double click the adjustment layer to tweak the S curve - only the curves dialog box has been 'reset' to neutral ie a straight bottom left to top right line. I know the curve still applies, I can see that in the image, but I have lost the curve I want to tweak. Shouldn't the dialog open with the curve that is currently being applied so that curve can be tweaked, rather than adding a new curve to the now unseen first curve? I suppose I could add another curves adjustment layer, but that seems overkill (and has memory/complexity costs).

Many thanks

cathodeRay

PS still very impressed with PL

I don't know what to say -- here on Win7 Pro x64 and PL 19.03 x64, the Curves adjustment retains the curve when re-opened, whether the adjustment layer is on its own or is a child layer. :?

Maybe a screenshot of your layers panel and an excruciatingly detailed list of the steps you're doing will help solving this. Operating system info and PL version and bitness would help, too.

Duh! Worked it out. When I reopened the curves adjustment layer (was working in LAB) it reopened (reasonably) with the sum curve displayed but I had applied the adjustment to the L/a/b channels separately and when I selected them my adjustments were still there.

Thanks Ken for the reply
