How to apply filter to selected layers?

Is there a way to quickly apply the same filter to all selected layers? I'm working with an animated GIF and I'd like to blur every single frame of it.

I think you found a limitation - it would be great if we could multiple-select layers, and then apply the same adjustment layer to all the selected layers at once. We can already do so with layer effects in the latest version, and it would save a lot of work under circumstances.

If the timeline in Photoline would allow the adjustment layer at the top to be active for the entire span of the animation (comparable to how other timelines function), it would solve it. But that does not seem to be how it works.

Are you talking about the timeline of the Dynamic Animation? It does work correctly here, though the track stack is inverted (compared to the Layer List).

Hey, what do you know! It works!

Yes, open the timeline in WEB-->DYNAMIC ANIMATION

Then create a new timeline (click on the info icon (which should really be replaced with a new icon).
Next, click on the second icon from the left to add new tracks. Finally drag the object you wish to animate in the tracks.

To apply the adjustment layer to the entire animation, place a track at the bottom, and drag the adjustment layer in it. Make sure it is extended across the span of the animation, and you will see it is applied to all objects.

Martin, it would be SO AWESOME if that timeline would be more tightly integrated with the regular viewport. Have it directly work with it, and add a simple feature to create frames for bitmap frame by frame animation (Look at Krita's excellent new animation timeline for inspiration). And the track stack ought to be inverted, and reflect the regular layer stack. This is SO close to being a proper animation system in Photoline. Really.

That, and improved painting tools, could be a killer feature for the next full point version.

Then again, you would probably need to refactor the whole thing, which may be a large undertaking. I am probably making it out as easy, while it may involve a lot of work.

I can't get this to work. After I drag the adjustment layer (gaussian blur) to the second track (or even to both) it blurs only the last frame. Checked it in with the Animate layers panel only because saving the gif now doesn't ask me if I want to collapse the layers. It just saves the full white mask of the adjustment layer.

The blur layer has to span the complete animation.

I don't understand that, but I appended a simple sample animation and the resulting GIF file to demonstrate the basic procedure.

Thanks for the example, I see now what you explained. However what I meant is applying a filter to each frame of an animated GIF not an animation created in PhotoLine. For example I'd like to load an anim gif with 400 frames, blur all 400 frames then save the gif still as an animation.

I guess then it's not possible. Could we have a generalized way to apply a filter to all selected layers? Or, to go even further, applying a macro to all selected layers.
