Minor issue but is it normal??
When I use Filter/Digital Camera/Light-Shadow my screen will flicker with banding when I hit OK. This only happens the first time I use it on an edit.
Is this 'normal' or am I doing something 'abnormal'?

Re: Screen flicker
I can't reproduce that behavior, even on a 100Mb 5,400px by 3,600px TIF image. I do notice that after clicking "OK" some kind of small window flashes for a split second.... I have no idea what that window is supposed to do.
Ken
Yes, I think it can be eeeeeasily done....
Just take everything out on Highway 61.

Re: Screen flicker
I cannot reproduce that issue either. Unlike Ken, I don't see any quick flash of a small window. I don't use this filter, but it seems to be working just fine. Have you checked that your video driver is as up-to-date as possible?

Re: Screen flicker
Thanks guys. It only happens on the first edit. If I go back and readjust something then there's no issue. Ken my files are 6000*4000 tiffs. It's the only time it happens. Just a refresh issue I guess.

Re: Screen flicker
Just a quick reminder about using the Light/Shadow adjustment:
It's real easy to get halos around objects (tree leaves, etc.) against a blue sky. Use the absolute minimum values for the "Light" adjustment.

Re: Screen flicker
Just for a means of comparison,,,I'm processing approx 5650x3800 TIFFs and, like I said, no issues with screen flicker that I can see. And, I was running it on a fairly old moderately beefed up Windows computer; now running Windows 10 as of about a week ago.

Re: Screen flicker
Just an update. I have PL on two laptops. Main one is an i5, 8gig running Win 8.1. My secondary computer is an old i3, 4gig, Win 7.
Both computers/PL show the same issue. (PL on the old laptop is straight out of the box! ie all default settings).
I open a large tiff. Go to Filter/Digital Camera. Select Light/Shadow. Hit Reset. Move just the Shadow Width to 20. Hit ok. I see several bands flick across the image.
As I pointed out. Not critical but just curious.

Re: Screen flicker
Not experiencing it with mine either. This sounds like a very rare case. Have you noticed any other issues besides the flickers?bruce1951 hat geschrieben:Just an update. I have PL on two laptops. Main one is an i5, 8gig running Win 8.1. My secondary computer is an old i3, 4gig, Win 7.

Re: Screen flicker
Just to confirm. You are watching the image in the main screen and not the small preview?
On both my computers several bands flash across the image. Maybe less than half a second. Second at the most.
