Fine tune plugin edits
Hello everyone, I am new to PL, exploring its possibilities. I have searched the forum but have not found an answer to this question: is it possible to reedit work done in a plugin? E.g. I have done some editing in NIK plugin and I am not satisfied with results, I want to tweak them, but when I am opening the plugin again, state is not saved from the previous opening - all steps etc. are gone, I am not able to tweak the image by modifying old steps, I would have to start from the scratch. Is there a workflow to do that?

Re: Fine tune plugin edits
You can record the settings of a plugin as an action, but you can't apply a plugin to an image layer and edit exactly these settings later.

Re: Fine tune plugin edits
It's more a NIk issue than a PL issue. I use Nik plugins from time to time. I have found them a bit clumsy with reset to original actions. ie in Color Efex pro I developed a neutral set of settings then saved that as a preset. When ever I make an oops I can go to that preset and get back to the point when the file was loaded.
My only suggestion is to do a save in PL prior to opening Nik. 'Play' in Nik. If it goes pear shaped in Nik you have a preset to fall back on. If it goes pear shaped later in PL then you always have your saved version as a new starting point.
Yes it's not idea but unless PL tracks the plugin actions in PL history then I can't see a work around.
regards
