How to Use Border Matting Tool in 21.50

I recently attempted to use the Quick Selection Tool along with the Border Matting Tool after having relied on other products for this function. The Border Matting Tool opens with a huge-size brush, and I can find no way to change the size. How do you adjust the size of this tool for performing this function?

Every tool that works with brushes, uses the active brush from the tool box:

The size can be quickly changed in many ways, for example Shift+Mouse Wheel or Ctrl-Mouse Drag.
