Hotkeys stop working

Post by gennadiy »

Hello.

Windows10.

If I have start PL a non-English keyboard layout switched,
then in PL hotkeys stop working,
even after the layout was switched to English.
until you load them from a file (Options->Keyboard Layout),
or restart PL with English layout.

After an update (Windows or PhotoLine) or all of a sudden?
All shortcuts or just the customized ones?

Basically: The default shortcuts are loaded from the file "Hlp/Shortcuts.xml" (in the PhotoLine directory), the custom changes are stored in "%appdata%/PhotoLine/PhotoLine.xml".

Previously also seen before the update.

I use my own set of hotkeys.

So all of a sudden?

That doesn't answer my question: Do all keyboard shortcuts no longer work or only your own?

Can you send us your PhotoLine.xml ("%appdata%/PhotoLine/PhotoLine.xml")?

I have troubles with CTRL+Shift+C on Windows 7.
It already shows when I use "edit > options > usage > keyboard setting": Other keyboard shortcuts including CTRL+Shift+... are shown, but some of them let a Radeon popup appear. So probably that Radeon software or another app is stealing the keys.

Yes, the Radeon software seems to intercept quite a few keyboard shortcuts. I just did a web search for "radeon disable shortcuts" and found quite a few results. Turning off the keyboard shortcuts in the Radeon software also seems to be just a temporary fix. You have to do it again and again after each computer reboot.

Maybe other background programs are doing the same thing.

All hotkeys.
Defaut or not default.

I load all the default hotkeys from here:
C:\Program Files\PhotoLine\hlp\Shortcuts.xml

It helps to some extent to work with the Windows option enabled:
Window Settings->Advanced keyboard settings->
Let me use a different input method for each app windows

In this case PL starts in English layout.
