Vector Curve Creation
I've drawn a closed vector curve creation. How would you convert that path into a selection ?

Re: Vector Curve reation
There's "convert layer to lasso" in the context menu of a vector layer. "Lasso" means the outline of a selection.
But I wonder what you will do with that selection? Maybe you can turn the vector into a layer mask instead? Or use "View > Panels > Adjustment" to assign some work to that (white filled) vector layer?

...or just CTRL-click the layer (group). That also creates a selection.

Re: Vector Curve Creation
Thanks guysComing from photoshop ( PS ), still struggle with the terminology.I would sometimes use the pen tool in PS to create a path on an area I wanted to edit, right click and choose make selection. With that selection active, could add an adjustment layer ... and in PS, an adjustment layer automatically has a mask.

Re: Vector Curve Creation
If you start with one of the lasso tools, then it seems that PL does it the same way:
- Make a selection with a lasso
- Right click into the selection, Convert selection to layer
- .. Or "Layer > Layer mask > Create from mask"
- .. Or use a filter like gaussian blur and finish that fllter not with OK, but with the "create layer mask" button.

Thanks Hoogo ... both work well, I just need to get more comfortable with the tools but I like the way they work.Hoogo wrote: ↑Tue 15 Oct 2024 15:35If you start with one of the lasso tools, then it seems that PL does it the same way:- Make a selection with a lasso- Right click into the selection, Convert selection to layer- .. Another question about the curve creation tool ... I have a vector path drawn,
how would I add a point between two other points at random locations along path,
I can add a point now, but it seems to always be connected to the last point entered or closed ?

Re: Vector Curve Creation
When I place my cursor somewhere on the line, a little hammer is added to the cursor icon. Double-Click adds a point there, and after that you can continue.
