A simple suggestion to get PL more visibility

Humble bundle has been around for some time now, and is popular among the anglophone world. I don't know about continental Europe. However, by offering older version of PL for slightly reduced price (I know 79 Euro isn't much in the first place in the grand scheme), you can get more visibility for PL. For instance, by selling PL24 for say 45 Euro or less, you lower the barrier to entry for some people. This means that for you, as developers, you still get value from an older version. Just a suggestion.

What would make a difference is a native Linux version. I am aware PhotoLine runs on Linux via WINE, but a proper Linux version could really be attractive to bring in Linux users - of which many are developers, and PhotoLine is a really good match with that mindset, in my opinion.

Also: so far no other (good!) commercial image editor exists on Linux. Gimp is too limited, and Krita is aimed at digital painting.

I'd love to have a native Linux version. But it may be too much work for the brothers to realize one.

Yes I agree. A native Linux version would be great, but I'd rather not take the developers' attention and effort away in that direction. You know who can do Linux native version? Affinity. But they won't. They haven't even got the Windows/Mac version right yet. Oh well.

I'm under the impression that PL runs pretty well under WINE, and it's even quasi-supported. And Linux is a pretty small market share of the desktop market.

What would be great visibility would be a web-based (watered down) version of PL. Make it ad-free free with subscription and I would use it all the time I'm on the road. It would be a gateway drug to buying the desktop version.

But I'm pretty sure that idea has been proposed before and Martin or Gerhard turned it down.
