Importing Raw Files from camera to computer

Post by SteveSilverman »

Just found this software. I have been using JPEGs and Photoshop and would like to use Raw files. With the JPEGs, my computer (Windows XP) sees the camera and files and I can drag them to the appropriate directory in Explorer. How, using Photoline, do I move the files from the camera (Canon 20D) to the computer? I found the Import function but couldn't specify the camera and the destination.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

I use PL32 with my Macs but this should be similar. Try this in the menu: File/Browse.
In this window there are on the left side your volumes (harddisk, cd rom, usb stick, memory cards ...).
Can you see your photo directory there?

There are two different kind of digital kameras.
Some simulate a harddisk when connected to the computer, others are "Multimedia Devices".
Most Canon cameras are "Multimedia Devices". This kind can't be shown in the browse window of PhotoLine. But you can see it in the Windows explorer and copy the images to the harddisk.
