The site is Microsoft's free downloads area for desktop wallpapers, so I doubt if there will be any problem using the image for experimentation. Being able to work on the full-size, full-resolution image should help with the various adjustments, too.
This image is by no means the prettiest one available there, but I chose it because it promises to be a difficult one to convert into an excellent B&W image because the bulk of the red colours are so similar and the lighting on the cliff face is so flat . In other words, it's naturally effective as a colour image, but maybe not so much as a B&W image.
