I think I did not explain in a clear enough manner - apologies!
The file I attached in my previous post is one I prepared as a 16bit pld stamp (to copy into the stamps folder), since I wanted to paint with a full 16bit greyscale cloudy pld for use as a displacement map (which require 16bit or even 32bit greyscale bit depth to generate a "depth map" in 3d texturing).
Anyway, I discovered the current brush system in Photoline does not support 16bit brushes (only 8bit, 16bit+alpha and higher brushes are automatically converted to 8bit+alpha png ones by Photoline), so I thought to have found a clever work-around by creating a 16bit stamp of some cloudy noise.
Sadly, the stamp tool does not work with 16/32bit pld versions either
Even when I try to draw in a 16/32bit image layer with the 16bit version of the pld stamp (saved in the stamps folder) the stamp will look corrupted.
In the following image I used the same stamp, but the first cloud I drew with a converted to an 8bit pld stamp, while the second corrupted cloud was drawn with the 16bit stamp version. Both have transparent backgrounds set.

See what I mean? The top 8bit version is correctly drawn. Visually the second one (16bit greyscale stamp) should display exactly the same, but it seems 16/32bit pld files are unsupported for use by the stamp tool. Photoline's stamp code does its best to interpret the 16bit+alpha greyscale pld the best it can in 8bit space. Which causes the weird looking patterns.
I hope I explained the issue well enough this time.
